What it checks

Checks and how they are labeled
CheckLabelWhy
Live textUnsupportedCricut’s SVG upload help lists text that isn't converted to paths as unsupported.
Embedded bitmap imageUnsupportedRaster images inside an SVG don't cut as shapes.
Clipping pathsUnsupportedClipped-away parts may reappear on import.
Pattern fillsUnsupportedPattern fills don't become cuttable shapes.
External referencesUnsupportedLinked files and URLs aren't included in the SVG your customer downloads.
Stacked duplicate shapesLikely problemExact same geometry text in the same transform context, even with different colors or strokes. Can cut the same line twice. Text-based, so not every duplicate is caught.
Masks, scripts, embedded HTMLReviewMay be ignored on import or look suspicious; not always a failure.
Open contoursReviewOften intentional for score or draw lines; a problem only if the shape should be solid.
Size, units and viewBoxNotePixel sizes import at different sizes in different apps.

Findings name the element, such as g#Layer_1 > path:nth-of-type(3), plus any layer name or ID so you can find it in Inkscape, Illustrator or Affinity.

Help

Questions

Are my files uploaded?

No. Files are read by JavaScript in this browser tab. Their names and contents are not sent to CutCheck. Analytics only counts CSV downloads, checkout starts and purchases with campaign labels.

Does a clean result mean the file will import correctly?

No. CutCheck reads the SVG source for known risk patterns. It isn't affiliated with Cricut or Silhouette and doesn't certify files. Always test-import in the app your customers use.

Why are open contours only “Review”?

Score lines, draw lines and single-line fonts are open on purpose. An open contour only matters when it should be a closed cut shape.

How are duplicates detected?

Two visible shapes count as duplicates when their geometry text matches exactly (after collapsing whitespace) and they sit inside the same chain of transforms. Fill and stroke are ignored. Shapes in <defs>, clip paths or masks are not counted. Shapes that look identical but are written differently are not detected.

Which files does a ZIP scan check?

Only .svg files. PNG, DXF, PDF and other files are listed but never unpacked. Nested ZIPs aren't opened. ZIPs with unsafe paths (like ../), encryption or sizes that don't match their headers are refused.
